Accounting Supervisor
Description Position at Old Republic Risk Management Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM) is currently seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join its Accounting Team at its company headquarters in Brookfield, WI.
In general, the Accounting Supervisor manages and controls the accounting operations for Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM) accounts ensuring the attainment of departmental objectives.
Essential duties for the role are as follows:
Ensure the development and implementation of policies and procedures to meet the objectives of ORRM Cession Accounting.
Direct account procedures to ensure prompt and accurate accounting services for ORRM clients.
Provide accurate financial information that will contribute to the effective attainment of the Company objectives.
Assist in the development and implementation of computer and AS400 applications to assure that ORRM has cost efficient and accurate accounting systems.
Monitor accounts to ensure timely and accurate collection and payment of monies owed.
Supervise direct reports, make recommendations for performance management and disciplinary action.
Train subordinates to achieve goals.
In addition, contribute to the new employee selection process.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, and a minimum of three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceWorking as an Accounting Supervisor requires one to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is necessary.
Other skills necessary include excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and accurate proofreading skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to use a variety of office equipment.
This position requires demonstrated superior supervisory and/or project management skills.
This position requires one to lead change and inspire innovation.
In addition, this position requires the use of strong interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others.
This position requires knowledge of established accounting and related processing procedures.
This position also requires knowledge and experience with automated financial systems/applications and accounting best practices.
